5 Encouraging Scriptures to Get You Through the Day

Encouraging Bible Verses to Uplift You Throughout Your Day

white printer book page

Have you ever felt down or low?

Sad, tired, or exhausted?

Have you ever lost the motivation to get up in the morning?

Do you need encouragement or seeking help along your Christian journey?

Maybe you’re not saved and don’t know Jesus, and you desire to know the father (God)?

Whenever I’m feeling down and low, I always return back to the word of God. God’s word uplifts you, strengthens you, and most of all encourages you. No matter where you are on your Christian journey, no matter if you or a sinner or saint, God’s word touches the core of who you are. His words are timeliness and everlasting. It brings up, never pulls you down.

Below are my favorite scriptures that can help you tunnel through any week at any time of the year.

Ephesians 5:1 King James Version (KJV)

“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;”

  • Follow God with all your heart, just like a child who believes the words of his mother. While man will fail, God never fails. His word is true and timeless. What He says, he will do for you.
2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

  • Do we really know who our God is? Our God, who created us, has given us power. Fear is NOT of God; it’s from the devil. So when we are fighting our problems or facing tribulation, remember that with God, the enemy cannot win. He has given us power (the Holy Spirit), we have his love living on the inside of us, and a clear mind to make the right decisions when He leads the way.

John 15:16 KJV

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”

  • I love this verse because it reminds me God has a purpose for my life. God has a purpose for your life. Jesus told the people that even though we didn’t choose him, he had already chosen us for a specific purpose. Our purpose would bring yield blessing, and whatever we ask God, He will provide to us. The key is that Jesus chooses us and our purpose, and if we stick to his purpose, it will bring blessing to our lives, and it will remain (from generations to generations). Don’t give up. Find your purpose in God. Your life may not be what you ideally want it to be, but don’t focus on that. Find God’s purpose and when you do, hold on to it for dear life.

Job 13:15 KJV

“Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.”

  • We may never know why we go through certain situations. We may never understand why the road seems so hard or why others have it easier, but just like Job, if this is God’s will for my life, I will still trust Him. You might be having a rough week, or a traumatic situation may have occurred, don’t turn to God and say why me. Instead, get on your knees and find the altar. Don’t blame yourself and investigate what sin you commit, but instead call out for God. Encourage yourself in his word and maintain your ways– keep your salvation. Don’t let the enemy win because, like Job, he gained double and more than He could ever imagine when he lost everything.

Psalm 150:6 KJV

“Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”

  • Never lose your praise. Don’t let the enemy take away your praise. Praise is powerful. Praise brings healing, restoration, deliverance, and most of all, the presence of God. When you open up your mouth, then the blessing comes down. In every situation, praise your God in the good times, bad times, and ALL THE TIME.
