Re-Tracing Your Steps
It’s so good to re-trace your steps, to walk the route you walked before so you can find the treasure. Earlier in the week, I misplaced one of my credit cards. I didn’t realize it was missing until I needed to use it. I searched my purse rampantly for a card that would not appear. There was a long line behind me so I used a different card and completed my purchase.
In the back of mind I was worried. “Where is my card?”, I asked myself. I went the whole day thinking about my card. I pulled the memory of where I saw my card last and remembered I used it to purchase gas. But, unfortunately, I couldn’t remember if I put in my wallet or my bag.
When I reached home I searched my bag frantically emptying all the contents. I searched my car and the pockets of the clothing I wore the day before. I could not find my card. Now, I was worried. I check my account to see if there was any unusual activity and there wasn’t. This led me to believe I had the card and just needed to look in the right area.
Frustrated and ready to give up I decided to take a food break. In that moment I saw a jacket I wore earlier in the week and picked it up to put in my room. I suddenly remembered! I wore this jacket the day I used my card. I went straight into my room and found the card in my pants.
If I hadn’t re-traced my steps I would have thought my card was lost when it was exactly where I left it.
Don’t let the devil trick you into thinking your lost. Re-trace your steps and find it. “It” means something different to all of us but whatever ” it” is re-trace your path, you will find it. Often times God is saying to us I’m right here but we say we can’t find him. All we have to do is re-trace our steps and we will find what was missing.
