Do Not Be Afarid to Fall
Have you’ve ever done a trust fall? Ya know, when the instructor pairs you up and tells you to relinquish control and fall into your partners’ arms. How many of you have fallen or do you fake fall? I’ll be honest, I’ve never fallen. I’m too scared to let myself fall with the hope someone will catch me. But that’s how we are with God. We’re too afraid to fall because we think they’ll be no one to catch us. We convince ourselves we can’t fall because everything will fail if we let go, if we lose control.
But God has proven to us that he is faithful. In Genesis, when Joseph was sold in slavery, Joseph was at a low point in his life. He spent 7 years in jail before entering into Pharaoh’s home to become the second most powerful man in Egypt. Joseph was in the valley, but he never lost faith and God remembered him. Through it all, he was there holding Joseph and strengthening him for what was about to come.
Let us be reminded that God WILL catch us. His hand is already there waiting for us to fall back and rest in his arms. The song says he “hideth my life in the depths of love and covers me there with his hands.” God wants to cover us. He wants to protect us. He wants to be our everything. He’s got this. So let Him in and let Him catch you when you fall becuase He’ll be there to get you back up again.
