When’s the last time you memorized a scripture verse? I think the last time I memorized a Bible verse was in my pre-teens. You could find me bending my head in junior choir trying to remember Ephesian 5:1, so my choir director wouldn’t put me on punishment.

But the scripture admonishes us to write the word of God on the tables of our hearts. The word of God should live inside of us. So while reading the bible today, I started memorizing some verses. I encourage you all to take time, cover that verse, and repeat it until it’s flowing off your tongue like water.

Remember that there will come a time where the bible won’t be allowed to be read in church. There will come a time where the written word will be taken away and burned. But even though the paper will turn to ashes, they can’t erase what’s in our hearts. So I challenge you friends; find your verse, and memorize it. My choice today is Proverbs 4:23, “Keep thy heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life.”
