God is FaithFul
In this season of fear and anxiety, many people ask, where is God?
Christians who were standing on the firm foundation of the word find themselves doubting the power of Jesus Christ. Their faith is wavering like the man who built his house on the sand. Where is God? Why would he allow this to happen to us? Doesn’t He love us?
Yes, these are the questions that continuous play in our minds like a song on repeat. Where is God in all of this?
But I am here to remind you that God is faithful.
What does it mean to be faithful? According to Dictionary.com, the definition of faithful means to be true to one’s word, promises, and vows. You are reliable and thorough in the performance of duty. To be faithful means to be constant. You are loyal and truthful.
There has never been a time where God has not been constant, loyal, truthful, and true to his promises. The bible says in 2 Corinthians 1:20a, ” For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen …” God is faithful. We often see faithfulness from a skewed point of view. If our needs are not satisfied in a timely fashion, we feel let down. If we can’t see the finish line or some sense of where we are going, we feel lost. Yes, we speak the word, but do we let the word minister to our soul? Are we believing what we are reading?
God is faithful. He knows our end and our beginning. He said in Psalm 139:13, “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb,” meaning God knew us before we were even born. He knows the path we take (Job 23:10) and he’s seen our end.
We are passing through a rough season and it seems that there is no end in sight. But God is still on the throne. We serve a big God who can do exceeding and abundantly above all we can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Our faith in God cannot be hinged on what he has done for us, we have faith in God because He is God.
Therefore gird your loins and digger a little deeper in God. Give your fears to Jesus and stand in his love. Believe in and let not your heart be troubled (John 14:1). God is faithful and just to forgive (1 John 1:9). Don’t give up on God because He has never given up on you.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
