How to Stay Motivated?

I am not going to lie; it is hard to stay motivated. I woke this morning feeling so slouchy, lazy, and tired despite the fact I slept for over 8 hours. My motivation level is at an all-time low, today. So what can I do to get my blood pumping? What can do to shake this laziness, unmotivated arms and legs moving?

Number 1, talk to God. Yes, in your head. I started talking to God telling Him that I need some extra, extra juice today. I prayed and asked Him to help motivate me to get moving. After I prayed, number 2, I started talking to myself. There is no shame in talking to yourself. Everybody talks to themselves at some point in time. Today is your day. Have a conversation with Y.O.U, YOU! I told myself to get up. I told myself that I have time now, use it wisely. I begin to remind myself that success requires relentless dedication. To be successful requires relentless attention to your craft. I can’t do that if I am sitting on my hands.

Number 3, get up and get moving. Now you have to tell your hands to move. You have to tell your legs to walk. Tell your brain to think. Tell the body to line up! We can’t want success and not earn it. Work hard and reap your benefits. Number 4, set a plan. Set a plan that works for you. Do not mirror other plans. Mirror a plan that reflects who you are and a realistic plan you can follow. Be honest with yourself. Don’t set high expectations you know you won’t achieve because you’re lazy or slow. Set expectations that you can achieve and then beat those expectations with other goals that push you beyond your limits.

Success is more than being rich but, it is about being a position to do what you love and live the life you deem “successful”. But we have to stay motivated during this time. Let your creative juices flow and utilize this time to turn your hobby into a business. Turn your chore into a money-making machine and purse your first love– whatever dream that is.

Stay motivated— I know I will.
