Sometimes You’ll End Up Starting Something and Finish Doing Something Else
Last night I was writing a song. I was finishing a song I previously wrote and amid my writing, I began to write another song. The Lord began to speak to me and a brand new song was birthed. I did not intend to write this song. I intended to finish a song I had already written but, God had different plans.
Sometimes you’ll end up starting something and finish doing something else. That isn’t always a bad thing. If Jesus is leading you in a different direction don’t fight it because it deviates from the game plan, roll with it.
The Bible says in Isaiah 55: 8-9
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
Verse 8
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Verse 9
He knows the road before we even get there. He knows our beginning and our end. Learn to be playable for God when you ask him to drive. In life, everything cannot be systemic. Sometimes what we think is good is not good and God is trying to prevent us from entering the perceived “good” thing.
When I was writing my song and felt the urge to follow this new medley, I ended writing a song that was so powerful. It was better than the song I was writing. I said in my heart, “Ok Jesus, I will follow you. I know you’re speaking”.
The song I wrote last night is beautiful and I felt God’s presence right in my room. This song wouldn’t have come about if I had dismissed the Holy Spirit and followed my lead. The Bible says that our steps are ordered by the Lord.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
Psalms 37:23
He is God. He is higher than all. Listen to him. He has ordered our steps and He will take our basic plan and make it the greatest plan. He’ll take our dreams and turn them into realities. That’s the kind of God we serve. So, allow change to enter and let God be the center of your life.
Be blessed!
