The Case For Christ Review
We should never give up on people because God never gives up on us.
In our sinful nature, God waits for us to recognize that we need Him more than the air we breathe. He waits patiently until we say yes, Lord. The film The Case for Christ is the epitome of a sinner saved by grace. Released in 2017 by Pureflix films, The Case for Christ is the story of Lee Strobel, an investigated journalist who attempts the debunk the very existence of Jesus Christ. The film takes you on a journey through the lens of an unbeliever to a believer.

If you haven’t seen this film, STOP HERE! However, if you don’t mind reading the details of this film, keep reading.
Based on a true story, Lee Strobel was a journalist at The Chicago Tribune when his wife became a born again Christian. Strobel and his wife Leslie Strobel were atheists. Strobel was angry and upset that his wife gave her life to Christ after many years of believing the idea of Jesus Christ was false. He set himself on a mission to prove to her that Jesus did not exist. Now, the film doesn’t follow the exact story of Lee Strobel but, I want to touch on some points on why I believe this movie is powerful, impactful, and a great witnessing tool to unbelievers.
This movie is NOT cheesy. Sorry to say that most Christian films have that cheesy and predictable feel that doesn’t always captivate me for long. However, this film is very realistic. This movie is real and depicts real-life situations that can happen to anyone.
Firstly, this film shows the power of a praying woman. Throughout the film, Strobel begins to act mean, nasty, and unkind to his wife. This investigation begins to overtake him because he cannot prove his theory of Christ not existing. However, his wife never gave up on him. She prayed to God asking Him to give Strobel a new heart (Psalm 51:10), to renew a right spirit in Him. Prayer is the key to deliverance. When we are down in the valley prayer is our lifeline. I loved how she never gave up in prayer. She let go and let God have his way.
Jesus is king. Knowledge is power but God is the creator of power. He created knowledge. He created the scientist, doctors, lawyers, etc. Strobel interviewed elite doctors, researchers, pastors who all debunked his theory that Jesus Christ was never resurrected. They proved to him that Christ really exists.
Lastly, the power of witnessing. In the movie, Leslie Strobel was witnessed to by Albie after she saved her daughter from choking. Albie being a Christian shared the good news of Jesus with Leslie who then gave her life to Christ. What I loved about Albie’s character was her boldness to share Christ. She was not ashamed to talk about Jesus. Sometimes as Christians we are nervous and sacred to share Christ due to fear. But she didn’t let fear stop her. She witnessed and another soul came home.
Overall this movie was amazing a great witnessing tool to use for your friends and family. I hope you share this with someone who can use encouragement or a sprinkle of Jesus in their life.
