What I Love About Christmas: Family and Tradition
Christmas time equals family time. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for family fun games and an endless night of laughter when the holidays come around. That’s what I love about Christmas. It’s a time to catch up with loved ones, welcome new traditions and pass on old traditions. It’s a time to watch Christmas movies together all night with a cup of hot cocoa and a sweet treat to complete the night.
Christmas is a season of love, but not just love between husband and wife, but between a mother and a daughter. It’s love between a father and his son, love between grandparents and grandchildren. Ahh, Christmas brings joy, and the memories you create with your family will last a lifetime.
This year was the first year we put lights on our home. I’ve lived at my house for many years and never saws lights until today. I got to put those lights up with my brother and father. It was hilarious because both of them were arguing about how to put lights on our house. I smiled, capturing every moment with my mind so I can replay it in my quiet time.
I love Christmas because I love Christmas traditions. Even though we all have different Christmas traditions (according to my brother-in-law), those traditions are passed down from generation to generation. From decorating gingerbread houses to making homemade eggnog. From ice skating to visiting the NYC Christmas tree, attending a Christmas show, or having a Christmas Eve party, so many traditions come alive at Christmas. We all celebrate in different ways, and we share it with the ones we love.
So I love Christmas because of my beautiful family and the traditions we make. I am thankful for them all because they truly make the Christmas season bright.
