Find Your Own Skincare Journey
One of the things I love and hate about YouTube is the ability to share what works for you. While in one breathe, I appreciate the nuggets of knowledge I receive from different YouTubers; viewers make it seem the advice given is bible. Well, it’s not!
Find your own journey.
Let’s use skincare as an example. There is no hiding this — I have been on a mission for clearer skin. I have scarring from my acne days, and I would like to see them banished. I am determined to achieve my goal. I am someone who is into trying different methods from DIY masque to dermatologist recommended products. I have tried it all. Like you, I have listened to YouTubers who have tried many products and at home remedies to give them acne-free skin. But, when I am watching, I view it with the understanding that it MAY NOT WORK FOR ME.
What’s the lesson here? Find your own journey. Find out what works for you and stop trying to take someone’s road as your own. Understand that what works for one may not work for the other. Use their journey as a template of what could potentially be your journey. Did you read that word? Potentially meaning possible but not yet actual (dictionary.com).
Find your own path. Take from others and make it your own. It took me years to finally figure out what works best for my skin. Now I know what I can’t and cannot do. But I had to try many things before something finally stuck. I learned from my mistakes and learned from others, so I didn’t make more mistakes.
Find your journey. Go it alone, and don’t hold others for your failed choices. Accept, learn from it, and move on to better. For greater is coming, if you believe it.
