Cory Asbury Releases ‘The Father’s House’

I was driving in my car listening to Klove, the radio station when I heard this song. At first, I was half-listening, not paying attention to the words but, then something caught my ear, and it was the chorus. The words pierced through, touching my soul. The chorus said, “Lay your burdens down. Here in the Father’s house’ and towards the end of the chorus (which is my favorite part) “Check your shame at the door cause it ain’t welcomed anymore.” I love that line because it is a call to action. We should not be ashamed of who we are and what we’ve done because, in Christ, there is freedom. We are no longer slaves because Christ dwells in us.

There is a part in the verse where he says “Failure isn’t final when the Father’s in the room,” and that line is a great reminder to us that as long as Jesus is with us, we will never fail. In the movie ‘Black Panther’ the main character believes he never freezes when he sees the women he loves. However, when he finally sees her, he freezes. But, I want you to know that because we have Jesus we will never freeze. He is above, before, and all around us!

This song is a blessing and amazing. It brings joy to my heart and reminds me of the power of the Holy Spirit. If you haven’t already, take a listen to Cory Asbury’s new single ‘The Father’s House.
