Summa SUMMA SUMMER

I think I like the breeze
To feel the sun
To laugh and run
To waste the day in sand and water
That’s why they call it summer

The popsicle melts
The days never end
Saltwater smell in the air
Oh how I love my hair when it takes it and pulls it closer to the sky and close my eyes and wonder
Oh how I love my summers

There is a rhythm in the hearts of many
When the heat comes up to stay
Laughter and backyard gatherings
The Smells of grilling and the dj that won’t spinning
And the feet of little children who’ve been out all day

The heat that oozes from the concrete
It basks down from the sun
All I want to do is soak it up
Every inch the heat has to offer
Because I know it a few weeks it will be all over

The days will turn cold and we’ll run inside
But until then welcome summer
The fun has arrived.
