Little Itlay in RVC
I can’t say enough about this gem I found in Rockville Centre. Saturday morning and I decided to have breakfast alone. I wanted to try something new, different, and fresh so I choose Tazzetto Coffee.
This cute and cozy coffee shop, which specializes in their signature way of making coffee, has an inviting menu that makes me think Europe.
When I walked in at 10 a.m. on Saturday Morning I almost changed my mind on what I actually wanted. Let me first mention that I passed by this shop for weeks when it opened in RVC but came in due to an Instagram video of their belgian waffles. But as I looked at the menu I thought, “I might change my mind.” But the innner chocolate craving seeped out and I ordered what I came for; A Biscotti White Cup and Italian Hot Chocolate with a Belgian Waffle, Hazelnut Ice Cream, Nutella Drizzle and Powder Sugar.
YES! I know! Who eats Ice Cream for breakfast? Well…. ME. You only live once in life so why not, but I won’t make it a habit.
One word to describe this breakfast is peaceful. Yes, this breakfast was peaceful. The waffle was not sweet but warm and soft inside. It had a hard exterior and a soft interior. The embellishments you add on top is what makes this dish sweet, but it is a sweet balance. I never had hazelnut ice cream before and I loved it. The blend of all four componets made every bite heavenly.
I truly loved my Italian Hot Chocolate that I call rich. Yes, that is word I use on this cute little cup of joy, rich. This cup in person is cute and quaint but it is just the right amount of espresso you need for the morning jolt. I allowed the hot chocolate sink to the bottom as I bit through the cup. I slurped every drop. I only wished I had poured it over my waffle instead. That would have been truly chocolate heaven.
I can’t say enough about the nice staff at Tazzetto. They were so kind and helpful and brought the food to me as I waited. It was truly a pleasure to have breakfast at Tazzetto and I would definitely eat there again.
